The Human Jukebox is returning to Geneva Theater Friday, Feb. 14, 2020. That’s the nickname comedy veteran Gerry Grossman earned when he began playing guitar and singing during his Chicago stand-up act decades ago.
Grossman can play thousands of rock and roll hits from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s. He takes requests and plays games with the audience like sing-alongs, name-that-tune, and finish-the-lyric.
Geneva Theater events coordinator Marie Frederick said, “Grossman has been our most popular comedian by far. It’s pretty amazing when he stops singing mid-sentence and everyone sitting around you finishes the song, the whole audience singing in unison.”
Grossman’s act will begin at 8:30 p.m. In honor of Valentine’s Day, there will be a selection of decadent desserts, and beer and wine specials available.
Advance tickets for the comedy show are $10, available at the theater box office, 244 Broad St., or on geneva4.com. Admission at the door will be $14.
